The Kremlin Conspiracy by Joel C. Rosenberg

My rating: 4/5

A heart-pounding novel, sure to keep you on the edge of your seat, The Kremlin Conspiracy by Joel C. Rosenberg is a superbly written political thriller.

This is the first body of work that I have read from the author. I usually disregard politically based books. However, I wanted to add some variety to what I read within the Christian fiction sphere of literature, and I read numerous stellar reviews on Rosenberg’s books. So, I had to give this novel a try, and I am so glad that I did.

The Kremlin Conspiracy is part one in a trilogy that follows main character Marcus Ryker, a Marine veteran and retired U.S Secret Service agent, as he partakes a mission that may potentially save the United States, and three countries within the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, which would result in the abolishment of a catastrophic nuclear war. The novel is primarily set in both the United States and Russia and contains a great deal of political and military vocabulary. Initially, I was intimidated by the vast political and military references, however this factor was instantly overshadowed by Rosenberg’s ability to establish profound character development and an intriguing plot, that allowed me to become quickly invested in the storyline of the main character. As I progressed within the story, I discovered that I had become interested in the political aspects of the novel as well.

“God always knows what we need, and if we’ll just trust him, he’ll provide from the most unlikely sources” (Morris, The Kremlin Conspiracy).

As a Christian fiction author, the novel does include some Christian references, as the main character is identified as a Christian. The novel is not heavily immersed with biblical or spiritual references; however, the reader will notice the inclusion of Christianity sprinkled within the prose. I certainly appreciated the addition of the Christian references, as a believer of Christ myself.

Thrilling, gripping, and exhilarating, I highly recommend this book.
