The Reunion by Dan Walsh

My rating: 4.75/5

The Reunion by Dan Walsh is an inspiring tale that exemplifies the restorative love of Christ. It beautifully depicts how the transformative love of Jesus can mend the broken hearted, heal the wounded in spirit, and comfort the abandoned. This uplifting story is notable and endears to the heart of the reader.

Main character Aaron Miller could feel inadequate about much in his life. As a Vietnam War veteran who survived the horrors of combat, battled with substance abuse, lost his family, and works a menial job as a repairman at a trailer part making meager wages, one would presume that Aaron has had an unfortunate life. However, that is not the case. Aaron gave his life to Christ and was blessed with the restorative love of Jesus. With his life changed by grace and a heart of compassion to help others, Aaron’s life is way more meaningful than he realizes. A stranger enters his life, intrigued by his past, and presents him with an exceptional opportunity that may prove to be life changing.

“That’s why I love Jesus, Billy. Ain’t a cliché’ for me, being saved. If Jesus didn’t exist, then who saved me back in ’87 from all that emptiness? And who’s saved me at least hundred times since then?” –The Reunion.

Author Dan Walsh created a well written story with delightful characters and an enthralling plot including themes of hope, family, and forgiveness. The Reunion depicts the blessing of second chances. The Christian faith content was superbly intertwined in the plot and gave a heartwarming element to the story. I absolutely loved this novel. This is a must read that I highly recommend to others.
